Jooha Roh
Founder & Editor in Chief
Jooha Roh is the Editor-in-Chief and Founder of HumanWrites.
She believes that empathy is the key to understanding and addressing global issues that are often overlooked.
Through writing and Original Oratory, she seeks to give voice to the unheard and spark conversations that lead to change.
Her work has been featured in several literary journals. A devoted reader, she loves historical fiction and films, and occasionally indulges in K-dramas. In her free time, she enjoys creating retro photo albums and weaving new stories through poetry.
Alexis Gately
Managing Editor
Alexis Gately serves as one of the Managing Directors at HumanWrites.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, painting, baking, and testing new recipes. She has been a long-time track and field athlete and has dabbled in cross country since entering high school. Many of her free weekends are spent at the stable, riding horses or mucking stalls.
She has always enjoyed going out with friends and chatting over a good iced tea. Some might say she has a spending problem when she goes out, but she likes to call it her kind of therapy—retail therapy. Beyond that, she is a huge foodie who loves trying new restaurants with her mom, especially local hole-in-the-wall or mom-and-pop places.
Having grown up all over the world, she has had the opportunity to experience many different tastes of life. From this, she has come to understand the importance of helping those who, in that moment, cannot help themselves.
Clara Oh
Managing Editor
Clare Oh is one of the Managing Directors at HumanWrites.
She enjoys playing tennis and ping pong in her free time and also loves journaling and writing short reflections about her life.
At school, she is a member of Varsity Tennis, part of the VEX Robotics team, and leads a business club.
She is passionate about shedding light on social and global issues and is excited to contribute to HumanWrites’ mission.
Sei Nam
Art Director
Sei Nam is the Art Director for HumanWrites.
She loves drawing in her free time, especially creating artwork inspired by the ocean. Music is another big interest of hers; she enjoys playing both acoustic and electric guitar. During summer break, she can usually be found surfing, especially on the beaches of Bali and Guam. When she’s not studying, she’s most likely spending time with her cat.
